Present were: Allan Dewald, Abe
Rosenbloom, Pat Long, Patricia Craven, Lisa Williamson, Randy Larson,
and Karen Baum.
The meeting was called to order at 9:10 PM EST.
Presidents Report: Abe had tabulated the overall scores of the
proposals discussed at previous meetings, and sent them to the board
members prior to this meeting. The members were directed to this
document.
July minutes: not discussed at this meeting.
Treasurers report: Pat discussed that donations are decreased
this year compared to previous years. The treasurers report was
approved.
Development Committee Report: Patricia discussed that it was time
to contact AOBA regarding the stud raffle. AOBA is changing program
format to exclude educational seminars at the annual May meeting.
Educational seminars will be held at the mid-winter conference instead.
ARF website: Patricia said the website revisions are progressing
well, and that the new ARF website will be very modern and
user-friendly. It will offer donors new ways to give, such as through
car donation and use of justgive.com
MAF and LMRG update: Allan discussed possible ARF co-sponsorship
of MAF camelid proposals.
New business: Allocation of ARF funds was discussed. Allan made a
motion to fund the second year of Dr. Armiens project, and to
co-sponsor the three new camelid proposals approved by Morris Animal
Foundation this year, as well as the second year of Dr.
Pellegrini-Masinis study. Randy seconded the motion. Lisa Williamson
and Pat Long abstained from the discussion and the vote. The motion was
approved. Abe made a motion for ARF to fund the 5 highest ranked ARF
proposals (Fecteau, Raudsepp, Renieri, Neill, and Crossley). Allan
seconded the motion. This motion was unanimously approved.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday September 21, 2009.
Abe motioned to adjourn the meeting. Randy seconded the motion. The
meeting ended at 9:52 PM EST.
