Minutes of the Alpaca Research Foundation Meeting
November 16, 2009
Present were: Allan Dewald, Abe Rosenbloom, Pat Long, Lisa Williamson,
Karen Baum, Randy Larson and Michelle Ing.
The meeting was called to order at 6:08 p.m. PST.
President’s Report:
October Minutes: Allan moved to approve October minutes. Randy seconded. Passed
unanimously.
Treasurer’s report: Pat presented the treasurer’s report. Allan moved to approve
the treasurer’s report. Randy seconded. The treasurer’s report was approved
unanimously. Please see the complete report for details.
Development Committee: Patricia presented the development committee report via
email. Randy Brealey has kindly offered any of his studs for the ARF Suri Stud
Raffle. The committee picked Accoyo Rico. They also decided it might be a good
idea to put in small letters that if the winner would rather pick another stud
of Randy’s that would be fine also. Poseidon is this year’s huacaya stud.
Marilyn has generously offered to help Rachelle with the stud raffle. The
website is close to being finished. It looks great. Once the website is up and
running, Patricia will send the annual giving letter to ARI to be sent out.
MAF and LMRG Update: Starting in 2010, review of large animal research proposals
will be in October, not in June as in previous years. WVLF (Willamette Valley
Llama Foundation) has changed its name to the North West Camelid Foundation
(NWCF).
New Business:
ARF Officers will remain the same for 2010.
Eleven Pre-proposals were reviewed.
Next meeting is scheduled for 6:00p.m. PST, January 25, 2010.
Allan made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Pat seconded. The meeting ended
at 7:45 p.m. PST.
