President’s Report:

NC Alpaca Show CABOA raised $3500 during the silent auction for ARF.

January Minutes: Patricia moved to approve January minutes. Pat seconded. Passed unanimously.

Treasurer’s report: Pat presented the treasurer’s report. Karen moved to approve the treasurer’s report. Allan seconded. The treasurer’s report was approved unanimously. Please see the complete report for details.

Development Committee: Campaign buttons and raffle tickets were sent out to Development Committee members as well as the ARF BOD members. ARI has agreed to send an email blast regarding the ARF stud raffle. Bill Pierce has okayed a table at AOBA to sell stud raffle tickets. Susan Forman has written an email blast about Lisa Williamson’s work on anthelmintic resistance, and is working on an email blast on Choanal Atresia. Ingrid Wood has written an investigator profile for Alpacas Magazine about Choanal Atresia.

MAF and LMRG Update: There is no news to report at this time….Pat goes Thursday for a MAF meeting.

New Business:

Shauna, Patricia and Abe had a meeting to discuss a genetics conference, “Meeting the Challenges of Genetic Improvement”, September 9-11, 2011. The focus of this conference is Camelid Genetics as well as reproductive technologies and the use of EPD’s.

Jennifer Bond is gathering historical information on the alpaca industry.

Next meeting is scheduled for 6:00p.m. PST, March 15, 2010.
